Well, it seems the line between the www and reality have become even smaller! I was introduced to the world of http://secondlife.com/ last week and since then i have been thinking about what a great idea it is.

I remember when i first heard about the www and what it could do, i must have been about 13 at the time. The idea of a virtual world did come to mind. It seems strange that no one has come up with the idea before now. I suppose the scope of the idea was so big that it had probably been in development for a good few years before the launch in 2003.

I can see this taking off in a big way if it is promoted properly. At the time of writing there are over 700,000 registered users, nothing compared to the world of warcrafts 7,000,000+ users! I hear some large companies have already bought plots of land in the Second Life world for around $1000. No doubt the advertising potential will be enormous if it keeps growing.
