We love lists here.. so much so, we have compiled a list of our top 12 favourite Apps that we can’t live without.

Sure, we can all have individual programmes and hardware that perform these tasks, but these apps are often quicker, easier and more fun to use. That has to be a good thing, right?

Image manipulation tools

Webkuts

Webkuts allows you to take snapshots of a page, or select smaller areas to your liking.

The tool’s interface helps by showing the size of the area selected, allowing the user to choose the image format & quality.
Pixus

Pixus is a handy little measuring tool that allows you to find the size (in pixels) of any object on a page. It also has a preview mode so you can see how it will look.

Icon Generator

This one does exactly what it says on the tin. No more messing around in photoshop, this app allows you to make web 2.0 and Adobe style buttons in a few seconds!

Colour Palette Tools

Colour Picker

As expected, this app allows you to quickly pick colours, find their values and see a list of previously picked colours.

Kuler Desktop

Allows you to sign into Kuler, create, manage and import and themes. These can then be imported into your favourite CS3 programmes for later use.

Time / Project Management tools

Doomi

Doomi allows you to set reminders and task for yourself throughtout the day. Enter your to-do’s and be reminded when they are due.

Minitask

More of a post-it note style app that allows you to draw up lists and then check the box adjacent to the task when its done. Simple as that. Great for keeping your tasks ordered.

Ora Time and Expense

An application for tracking times worked on a project, that works with a timer and generates timesheets & expense reports.

Klok

Klok is a project management tool than enables users to track, manage and schedule tasks. Klok has a handy drag and drop interface that allows tasks to assigned to any given customer, for easy and clear task management.

Timeloc

Timeloc allows users to accurately measure time spent on projects and records these times for later reference. Ideal if you are working on an hourly basis or have a tight schedule.

Font picker

This tools allows you to quickly browse through and preview any fonts that are installed on your machine. Great for finding that killer font for your new logo.

Google Analytics Reporting Suite

The Google Analytics Reporting Suite allows you to use the Google tracking application on your desktop. More suited to webmasters and SEO consultants, you can keep up to date with your keyword, visitor, Adwords and related web traffic statistics in one place.
