Will SEO services help my business make more sales? That’s one of the most common questions we hear at Onlineworx from customers considering our SEO services.

Because each business is totally unique with different budgets and targets; selling SEO services generically can become quite difficult as the best way to carry out an SEO campaign that’s effective is to tailor a completely bespoke plan to ensure the best possible results.

To find out if SEO can help your business ask yourself the following three questions:

1. Do I want more sales from my website?
2. Would my site benefit from having more visitors?
3. If people found my site number 1 on Google would I get more business?

If you answered yes to any of the above your business would certainly benefit from some form of SEO or online marketing campaign. The next part is to set up an SEO campaign that will work for your business model. The good news is that Onlineworx can handle this for you and design a campaign totally unique to your business to ensure 100% success.

Whether it is a Pay per Click campaign, an email marketing campaign, adding META details to your site or a mixture of many different online marketing and SEO tactics, you can rest assured that Onlineworx will be working tirelessly to improve the visibility of your website on the internet.

All the sites I looked at that are listed in this way have titles and descriptions and it’s not as if there aren’t many pages competing for that phrase (only 125,000,000)

I tried quite a few varying terms but everywhere else I look the results seem to be fine. I haven’t noticed anyone talking about this on the SEO forums yet so maybe it’s only a bug relating to the term I tried.

As the internet grows ever bigger we continue to see Google swallowing up more and more of it for themselves. As you probably guessed from the title Google has taken over You Tube for the pricey sum of 1.65 Billion USD.
The takeover sent Google shares soaring once again. Yahoo and MSN’s stock prices are down after news of the acquisition. Some more information here from major league blogger Robert Scoble about this buy out.

Here is the official Google press release. Another nice take on the situation here thanks to John Battelle
Maybe one day we won’t call it “the internet” anymore but “the Google” instead!

If you haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about listen to this radio interview with Matt Cutts (Google’s chief spam fighter). There’s some talk of Buffy in the show and 30 mins of useful SEO gossip. Matt Cutt’s and Danny Sullivan two of the biggest voices in SEO also talk more about Buffy in recent blog posts.

After hearing all that I did some searching around of my own and to my surprise I “found” this picture. A reliable source informs me that it was taken at a recent top secret SEO conference!

The best tools for SEO are free.

The first thing any aspiring SEO needs is a tool kit. Just like a plumber or mechanic SEOs need their tools too. With all the squillions of tools floating around on the web choosing the right tools for your kit can be just as confusing as the whole SEO side of things.

Over time I have managed to collect some good, and filter out some not so good free SEO tools.

Here they are…

Firefox Plugins

SE Open Provides some basic tools to help with search engine optimisation. Including google back links, yahoo back links, Page Rank check, http header viewer, and more.

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/570/

Web Developer 1.0.2, Adds a menu and a toolbar with various web developer tools. So many great tools on this extension

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/

Some great free tools from www.seochat.com

Page Rank Lookup
This tool streamlines the process of monitoring Page Rank for your sites. Enter a list of URL’s and it will give the Page Rank value for each one.

Page Rank Search
Enter your Google search term, and the tool will search Google and display the Page Rank next to each resulting website.

Robots.txt Generator
Use this to generate a robots.txt file for your site, which allows you to hide files or folders that you don’t wish to be indexed.

ROI Calculator
This measures the ROI (return on investment) of a CPC (cost per click) campaign. Fancy little thing this is!

Search Engine Keyword Position
This tool checks the search engine result pages of Google, Yahoo, and MSN to see what position your site holds for a particular keyword phrase.

Site Link Analyzer
This tool will analyse a given web page and return a table of data containing columns of outbound links and their associated anchor text.

Spider Simulator
This tool simulates a search engine spider by displaying the contents of a web page in exactly the way the spider would see it.

URL Redirect Check
This tool checks for valid HTTP 301 headers.

URL Rewriting
This tool converts dynamic URL’s to static URL’s You will need to create an .htaccess file to use this tool.

Future Page Rank
This tool will query Google’s many data centres to check for any changes in Page Rank values for a given URL. Take this one with a pinch of salt! It’s only a toy.

Some more great SEO link tools from www.webconfs.com

Back link Anchor Text Analysis
It is not enough just to have a lot of back links, it is the Quality of back links along with the Quantity that help you rank better in Search Engines. This tools help you determine the back links of your website and the link text used by your back links to Link to your wesbite.

Back link Builder
This tools help you build a LOT of quality back links, it searches for website’s of the theme you specify that contain key phrases like “Add link”, “Add site”, “Add URL”, “Add URL”, “Submit URL” etc. Most of the results could be potential back links

You won’t find all the tools for your kit here but if you use these from day to day you will have a distinct advantage over your competitors who are not savvy to such tools! I am always happy to hear about other free tools that are available.

Well, it seems the line between the www and reality have become even smaller! I was introduced to the world of http://secondlife.com/ last week and since then i have been thinking about what a great idea it is.

I remember when i first heard about the www and what it could do, i must have been about 13 at the time. The idea of a virtual world did come to mind. It seems strange that no one has come up with the idea before now. I suppose the scope of the idea was so big that it had probably been in development for a good few years before the launch in 2003.

I can see this taking off in a big way if it is promoted properly. At the time of writing there are over 700,000 registered users, nothing compared to the world of warcrafts 7,000,000+ users! I hear some large companies have already bought plots of land in the Second Life world for around $1000. No doubt the advertising potential will be enormous if it keeps growing.
