Are there any drawbacks to using Flash in a web page?

The major advantage of using Flash to animate your site rather than conventional animation using GIF files is that file sizes are much smaller and so download times are much quicker. The only real drawback of Flash is that search engines will not be able to see any of the text in the Flash file. But it’s easy to get around this by including normal HTML links on your page as well.
